Fitting a child’s name neatly on a bedroom door
Door space is usually narrower than wall space, but separate letters make it easy to adapt the design. Measure first, keep the layout clear of the handle and test the arrangement before attaching the pads.
Measure between the door edges
Measure the flat section of the door at the height where the name will sit. Ignore moulded panels, handles and any area that flexes or rubs against the frame. The letters are approximately 8 cm tall, with wider shapes such as M and W taking more horizontal space.
A short name can sit in one centred row. For longer names, reduce the gaps slightly, create a gentle diagonal or divide the characters into two lines. Separate pieces mean the final arrangement does not have to follow one rigid sign shape.
Make the name readable at a glance
Strong contrast makes door letters easy to recognise from the hallway. Pale Sky, Cream or Sakura stand out against a dark painted door, while Blue, Red, Olive and Wine are clearer on white or light wood.
If you want several colours, repeating two or three shades usually looks more organised than choosing randomly. The live preview lets you move through every position and check the complete sequence before payment.
Prepare the door carefully
Wipe away dust and allow the surface to dry fully. Arrange the whole name with temporary paper guides first, then mark the top or baseline lightly so the characters stay level.
Adhesive performance depends on the surface and finish. Avoid loose paint, rough grain, damp areas and recently painted doors. Position carefully before pressing because removal can affect the pad or delicate paintwork.
